A panorama of the high desert found along Young Road before entering the Sierra Ancha Mountains.

One of my favorite backcountry destinations in Arizona is the Sierra Ancha Mountains. It’s one of those areas where people rarely go because of its remoteness, but offers amazing views, hikes and camping. This particular photo is coming out of the mountains and overlooking the high desert along massive buttes that rise up to the east of Roosevelt Lake along Young Road.
