Black Bear Cub Sleeping in a Tree in Grand Teton National Park

A black bear cub sleeps high up in a tree in Grand Teton National Park.

So far I’ve seen three different sows with cubs along the Moose-Wilson Road in Grand Teton National Park. Yesterday’s post was the one found farthest to the north along the road, and the post before that featured another sow that had two cubs, however that one was both collared and tagged. This little cub, along with another not captured here, belongs to yet another sow who hangs out in the same area, but isn’t collared. When I arrived, they were all sleeping on the ground, but a few minutes later, the cubs got up and began climbing up a spruce tree. They wound up climbing higher than I expected them to, but was still able to get a few good shots at different angles.
