Mammoth Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone National Park

A grizzly bear looks up while eating near Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.

One of the reasons I wanted to camp in Mammoth the first night was because of the reports of not only a wolf-pack in the area, but also a grizzly bear seen near the campsites. Well before I even made it to Mammoth my first day in Yellowstone National Park, I found the happy grizzly bear just south of Mammoth chowing down on some roots. Definitely a great start to an amazing weekend!

After reading your bio I think we feel the same way about Yellowstone and the wildlife there. I was born in Wy. and have been going to Yellowstone for years and never get tired of photographing the place. Maybe some day I will run into you at a bear siting. Keep up the good work.

Wow! What an amazing picture. I went to Yellowstone in July and the grizzly we saw was through a spotting scope. He/she was not close enough to take a picture :( .

Thanks Angela! You definitely have to be patient with the area to get good shots of them.
