Thunderhead Cloud Over Monument Valley Panorama

A black and white panorama of a massive thunderhead cloud threatening to soak Monument Valley, Arizona.
Memorial Day Weekend of 2008 will certainly be a memorable one for Arizona residents. While Monument Valley, spanning the border of Arizona and Utah, saw intense thunderstorms such as this, much of the higher elevations of the state saw as much as 17″ of snow. That’s a lot of snow for a state known for its deserts, especially in May. While it would have been nice to see snow blanket Arizona in May, seeing thunderhead clouds dwarf the massive features of Monument Valley is just as rewarding. I came away with a lot of shots of the area during our drive through and found a few, including this one, that made for great black and whites.
